I wanted to note that for the bear we used white chalk marker and for the penguin we used acrylic paints. You can use whatever you have on hand. I personally love the look of white chalk marker on paper rolls, but if you want a more put together/clean look, go for acrylic paints as they paint very vibrantly and won’t be see through.

supplies needed for paper roll animal friends:

• paper rolls
• pencil
• scissors
• acrylic paint + paintbrush
• felt (assorted colors)
• black marker
• chalk marker
• liquid school glue (or hot glue gun)

instructions:

Bear:

• Start by outlining a simple bear shape on the paper roll. Cut out.

• Using the chalk marker (you can also use white acrylic paint), draw the belly, ears and nose.

• Now, using the black marker, draw the nose detail and eyes.

• Lastly, cut a strip of felt (any desired color) and make small slits at each end.

• Wrap the felt around the neck part of the bear, overlap the ends and glue to secure. Let the glue set.

Penguin:

• Start by outlining a simple penguin shape on the paper roll. Cut out.

• Now, using a pencil draw a simple detail of the hear. Using black and white acrylic paint, paint the head.

• Now, using the white acrylic paint, paint the bottom portion of the head.

• Using the orange acrylic paint, paint the nose.

• Using the black marker, draw the eyes.

• Lastly, cut out a strip of desired color of the felt, making slits at each end. Wrap around the neck of the penguin and glue together in place.
