#1: Bubble Wrap Beehive Craft
This Bubble Wrap Beehive Craft is a fun and easy recycled craft idea for kids.
MATERIALS:
- Bubble Wrap
- Craft scissors
- Washable kids paint (yellow/orange)
- Foam paintbrush
- Card stock (white, green, brown)
- Bee stickers
- Glue stick
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Using the brown card stock, tear it into strips to make a branch. Glue to the white card stock.
- Using the craft scissors, cut out a beehive out of the bubble wrap. To make it easier and symmetrical, fold the bubble wrap in half and cut.
- Paint the bubble wrap beehive with the yellow/orange washable kids paint and foam paintbrush.
- Carefully stamp the bubble wrap beehive under the branch on the white card stock. Pat gently and remove the bubble wrap.
- Cut leaves out of the green card stock and glue to the branches.
- Lastly, add the bee stickers around the beehive.
#2: rainbow cloud craft
Are you ready for a fun rainbow craft? This Rainbow Cloud Craft uses cardboard, cotton balls and colored popsicle sticks to make this rainbow come alive!
MATERIALS:
Optional for younger kids:
- Paper plate
- Q-tip
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Begin by cutting out a cloud out of the cardboard. You can use a pencil to sketch out a cloud first and then cut out, if that’s easier. THIS STEP IS FOR ADULTS.
- Now, prep the glue. Place a little bit of liquid school glue onto a paper plate and place a q-tip onto the plate. This steps helps little ones by not dealing with the difficult-to-squeeze glue bottles! You can certainly skip this step with older kids.
- Glue the cotton balls all over the cloud so you can’t see the cardboard in between. Let dry a bit.
- Using the hot glue gun, hot glue the colored popsicle sticks to the back side of the cloud. You can space them out, like pictured or you can hot glue them right next to each other. THIS STEP IS FOR ADULTS.
TIP- Use red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple popsicle sticks, in that order, for a beautiful rainbow!
#3: tissue paper lilac craft
This Tissue Paper Lilac Craft is a simple craft idea using tissue paper.
MATERIALS:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut the tissue paper into squares, approximately 2″ x 2″. Place into a bowl.
- Using the pencil, make a simple outline of a few branches for the lilacs. This step helps younger kids to visualize where to glue the tissue paper.
To make the lilac:
- Take a piece of the purple/lavender tissue paper, crunch it up just a bit and glue to the white card stock following the outline.
- When you have glued all of your tissue paper, cut out leaves from the green tissue paper and glue on top and between the purple tissue paper to create a bush (you can prep this step before hand).
#4: tissue paper peony craft
This Tissue Paper Peony Craft is simple enough for toddlers to make yet looks fancy, beautiful and unique!
MATERIALS:
- Tissue paper (pinks, purples, lilacs, whites)
- Pipecleaners (green)
- Craft scissors
- Pencil
- Lid to trace
Optional book:

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Begin by folding the tissue paper to get at least 4 layers.
- Using a pencil, trace the lid onto the tissue paper and cut out.
- Poke the pipecleaner through the pieces of tissue paper all at once to thread and then poke again to thread back. If you have a lot of tissue paper layers, you might need to carefully use the scissors (or a skewer) to make two holes and then thread the pipecleaner through.
- Next, line up the ends of the pipecleaner and twist them between each other to make a stem for the flowers.
- Lastly, pick up the top layer of the tissue paper and scrunch it up gently. Repeat with the rest of the tissue paper layers to make a nice, full-looking flower.
#5: gardening sensory bin
This Gardening Sensory Bin is a really fun one! It’s super easy to set up and you can literally use anything you have around the house!

#6: handprint carrot craft
This Handprint Carrot Craft is a fun Spring craft for toddlers and preschoolers!
MATERIALST:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place a little bit of green paint onto a paper plate.
- Get those little hands to work and dip or use a paintbrush to get every bit of their palms and fingers covered in green paint.
- Stamp onto the white cardstock onto the left side, keeping the cardstock horizontal, so the carrots are be “laying” when the craft is finished.
- Repeat steps 2-3 to get a total of two or three carrots.
- Using the paintbrush, draw the carrots using orange paint. Draw small lines on the carrot using the black paint to make the carrots more realistic. Let dry.
- You can write “Happy Spring” at the top using colored permanent markers/crayons/markers if desired.
#7: planting seeds activity
Spring is here and what’s a better idea than to plant a few seeds with this Planting Seeds Activity!
MATERIALS FOR PLANTING SEEDS ACTIVITY:
- Egg Carton
- Soil
- Seeds (cucumber, tomato, bell peppers, what ever seed you want!)
- Measuring cup
- Spoon
- Craft scissors
- Spray bottle
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare all of the materials ahead of time.
- Using the craft scissors, cut off the egg carton closing flap and lid.
- Place a little bit of soil using the spoon into each section of the egg carton.
- Using the finger, make an indention of about half inch, or as it says on the seed packet, and place a seed inside. Cover lightly with a little bit of soil.
- Repeat with all of the egg carton sections.
- Using the measuring cup, water each section of the egg carton just a bit. Don’t over water as it will soak the egg carton and you’ll need to place something underneath it.
- Place onto a sunny spot, water with the spray bottle daily and watch the seeds sprout and grow!
#8: paper roll flower craft
Make this super fun and easy Paper Roll Flower Craft using paper rolls! It’s really easy to set up and super inexpensive because you’re using recycled materials.MATERIALS:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Using the craft scissors, cut slits in one paper roll, about .5″-1″ deep and spaced at 1/3 of an inch.
- Cut out triangles in the other and slits spaced at .5″ in the other. They don’t have to be perfect.
- Place desired washable kids paint on a paper plate and you’re ready to paint away!
- Dip the paper rolls into the paint, making sure to get all of the slits coated and stamp onto the white cardstock. Once the flowers are stamped, we used a paintbrush to color in the middles orange and draw in the stems and leaves with green paint.
#9: fork stamped tulip craft
This Fork Stamped Tulips Craft is a fun and unique Spring craft perfect for toddlers and preschoolers!
MATERIALS:
- Forks
- Washable kids paint
- Paper plate
- White cardstock
- Paintbrush
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare the paint by adding a little bit of each color to the paper plate. Set the forks and paintbrush close by.
- Stamp the fork into different colors of paint and then stamp onto the paper.
- Using a paintbrush, add the green stems and leaves.
#10: recycled birds nest
This Recycled Bird’s Nest Craft is a great way to use up a regular, good old paper bag in a new and unique way.
MATERIALS FOR RECYCLED BIRD’S NEST CRAFT:
- Paper bag
- Paper plate
- Liquid school glue
- Craft scissors
- Artificial bird
- Bird’s eggs
- Leaves
- Twigs
- Pinecones
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First, cut the rigged part off the paper plate all around using the craft scissors. You’ll be left with a circle, approx. 4″ in diameter (you can also cut a circle out of white or brown cardstock).
- Next, cut the paper bag into strips (about 3″ long). Cut as many as you can.
- Glue the paper strips onto the paper plate circle in various directions to create the look of twigs and branches. Let the glue and the strips dry.
- Decorate the nest with twigs, leaves or which ever nature finds you can find outdoors!
- Add your birdies and eggs into the nest to make an adorable little centerpiece or Spring decoration.
#11: coffee filter butterfly craft
Welcome Spring with this Coffee Filter Butterfly Craft!
MATERIALS FOR COFFEE FILTER BUTTERFLY CRAFT:
- Coffee filters
- Popsicle sticks
- Liquid school glue
- Glitter (assorted)
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
- Pipecleaners (assorted)
- Craft scissors
- Watercolors
- Paintbrushes
- Paper plate (optional but keeps the some mess contained
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Begin by placing the coffee filter onto the paper plate and paint the coffee filter using the watercolors/paintbrush. Let dry (these dry super fast).
- While the coffee filter is drying, decorate the popsicle stick. Spread the liquid glue using a clean paintbrush onto the popsicle stick and sprinkle with glitter. Working on a paper plate helps with clean up!
- Once the coffee filter has dried, fold it in half and use the craft scissors to trim to make butterfly wings.
- Choose a pipecleaner and trim to make antennae.
- Next, use the glue gun (STEP FOR ADULTS) to glue the wings to the under side of the popsicle stick. Glue the antennae.
#12: paper plate bunny craft
If you’re looking for a cute Spring craft for kids then you’ll love this Paper Plate Bunny Craft! It’s super fun to make and kids will love the easy steps for creating their adorable little fluffy friend.
MATERIALS:
- Paper plate
- Gray washable kids paint (I’ve mixed white and black together)
- Foam paintbrush
- Felt (pink, gray)
- Pipecleaners (assorted colors)
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
- Permanent marker
- Craft scissors
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Begin by prepping a few of the materials ahead of time. This will only take 5 minutes. Place a bit of the gray paint onto a paper plate and set the foam paintbrush beside.
- Cut long ears out of the gray felt. They don’t have to be perfect!
- Cut a small heart out of the pink felt for the nose.
Craft on!
- Allow the kids to paint the paper plate with the gray paint, let dry.
- Hot glue the ears to the back of the paper plate. HOT GLUE GUN SHOULD BE USED BY THE ADULT!
- Once the paint is dry, use the hot glue gun to glue the 2 pipecleaners (bent, for the whiskers).
- Hot glue the heart for the nose, right on top of the whiskers.
- Using the permanent marker, draw a simple face for the bunny (I suggest this step for the adults as well, unless using a washable marker)
#13: cherry blossom craft
For this Cherry Blossom Craft we’re using good old tissue paper to create beautiful, Spring blossoms.
MATERIALS FOR CHERRY BLOSSOM CRAFT:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut the tissue paper into small squares (about 2″ x 2″).
- Next, using the brown marker, draw a branch on the white cardstock (drawing skills don’t matter because the flowers will cover most of the branch anyways!).
It’s craft time!
Let the kids pick and choose the tissue paper, scrunch it and glue it onto the branch until the cherry blossom branch looks filled.
#14: doily butterfly craft
This Doily Butterfly Craft uses, you’ve guess it, doilies, with an addition of a few other basic craft supplies.
MATERIALS:
- Doilies
- Water colors (we used tempura cakes, our favorite paint!)
- Paint brushes
- Mini 1-1.5″ clothespins
- Pipecleaners (assorted colors)
- Permanent marker or pen
- Hot glue gun + glue
- Craft scissors
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Using the water colors, paint the doily and let dry. Drying takes very quick!
- Next, carefully “scrunch” the doily in the center and place into a clothespin.
- Cut a piece of pipecleaner of choice into about 2″ strip, bend to make antennae and hot glue to the back side of the clothespin.
- Lastly, using the permanent marker or pen, draw a smiley face for the butterfly.
#15: recycled bee craft
This Recycled Bee Craft is so fun and easy to do!
MATERIALS FOR RECYCLED BEE CRAFT:
- Cardboard
- Googly eyes
- Craft knife + mat
- Black pipecleaners
- Washable kids paint (yellow)
- Foam paintbrushes
- Print of choice scrapbook paper (I found this super cute polka dot-ish paper at Hobby Lobby)
- Hot glue gun + glue stick
- Craft scissors
Book optional, but totally recommended! Just look at this sweet book about honeybees!
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First, cut the cardstock into an oval (about 1.5″ x 2″) using the craft knife and mat.
- Paint the cardstock oval with the yellow washable kids paint. Let dry.
- Once the paint is dry, wrap the black pipecleaner around the oval and pinch the ends to secure. I was able to wrap a standard size pipecleaner 3 times around the oval.
- Next, using the hot glue gun, glue the googly eyes. Also, cut out 2 tear drop shapes out of the scrapbook paper for the wings and glue as well.
- Lastly, make a stinger and antennae from the black pipecleaner and hot glue.
#16: spring play-dough tray
This Spring Play-dough Tray is super easy to prepare and your little one’s will love it!
mATERIALS:
- Play-dough (we love Eco-Kids Dough)
- Add-ins (like sequins, pom-poms, beads, stickers, buttons, plastic eggs, feathers, even pasta is great! )
- Tray with sections (mine is a dip tray from Walmart, 3$!)
INSTRUCTIONS:
I love using a sectioned tray for activities like these because you can place everything in it’s own section and display everything available for the kiddos to use. Place play-dough in the center and everything else around.
#17: spring sensory bin
Spring is in the air and this Spring Sensory Bin is the perfect way to celebrate!
MATERIALS:
- Bin (we love this Ikea bin, comes with a lid too!)
- Beans (for the ground)
- Old flowers
- Plastic birds eggs, butterfly, dragonfly
INSTRUCTIONS:
Dump the beans into the bin and arrange them so they’re covering half of the bottom. Add the withered flowers and leaves on top. Lastly add the plastic birds eggs, butterfly and dragonfly.
#18: insect sensory bin
INSECT SENSORY BIN- A SWEET WELCOME OF SPRING!
MATERIALS:
- Tray
- Rocks
- Beans (we used black)

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Simply dump the beans into the tray you’re using and arrange the rocks, artificial flowers and insects.
#19: painting with nature
What’s better than creating a unique and exciting painting experience for your kids? How about this Painting with Nature activity? Drop those paintbrushes and paint away using nature!
MATERIALS FOR PAINTING WITH NATURE
- Washable kids paint
- Tray to display nature
- Paper plate
- White cardstock
INSTRUCTIONS:
Lay out all of your nature “paintbrushes” onto the tray to visually display them all to the child. Add a little bit of each paint color to the paper plate and you’re ready to go!
#20: cardboard window wildflower craft
This Cardboard Window Wildflower Craft is an easy and beautiful recycled craft any one can do!
MATERIALS:
- Cardboard (old delivery box, shoe box, etc.)
- Colored permanent markers
- Craft knife with cutting mat
- Mini clothespins
- Super glue (make sure not to glue any of your fingers)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Lay a piece of cardboard onto the cutting mat and using the craft knife cut out a square approximately 6″ x 6″. This size makes it easier for toddlers to hold. Next draw a simple window doodle, you don’t have to make it perfect! Next using the super glue, glue the mini clothespins to the “window sill”. Make sure the opening of the clothespins are at the top. Now you’re ready to go on a hunt for wildflowers and fill the vases!
#21: wildflower hunt activity
This Wildflower Hunt Activity is a simple and easy activity requiring only 2 materials and lot’s of gross motor fun!
MATERIALS:
INSTRUCTIONS:
Using the scissors cut off the flap on the egg carton for the closing. Next, using the colored permanent markers, write “My Wildflower Collection” right on the lid part of the egg carton. Prep is done, now it’s time for the hunt!
#22: recycled ant craft
This Recycled Ant Craft is the perfect recycled craft idea for kids.
MATERIALS:
- Egg carton
- Craft scissors
- Liquid school glue
- Googly eyes
- Black washable kids paint
- Paintbrush
- Pipecleaners (black)
Optional book:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Using the craft scissors, cut the egg carton so you get 3 sections in a row (this step is for adults).
- Paint the egg carton sections black. Let dry.
- Once your ant is dry, glue on the googly eyes.
- Using a skewer or craft scissors, make 3 holes on each side in the last two sections of the ant (this step is for adults).
- Cut the pipecleaner into about 2″ strips and secure 6 of them for the legs into the holes you made.
#23: nature heart craft
Are you looking for a simple and easy summer craft idea for your kids? Look no more, this Nature Heart Craft is as easy as it gets!
MATERIALS:
- Cardboard
- Craft scissors
- Tape
- Wildflowers
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut out a heart out of the cardboard using scissors. You can draw the heart first and then cut out.
Now go on a wildflower hunt! Once you collect a small bouquet of assorted wildflowers, tape them to your cardboard heart. It’s simple, but beautiful, right?
#24: egg carton wildflower hunt
Do you save egg cartons? This Egg Carton Wildflower Garden is a fun recycled activity you have to try!
MATERIALS:
- Egg carton
- Screw driver
- Permanent marker
INSTRUCTIONS:
- To prep the egg carton for the garden, place the egg carton upside down and make holes in each of the sections using a screw driver. The holes do not have to big as the wildflowers usually have thin stems and they can stand up nicely when inserted into the hole if the hole isn’t too big. THIS STEP IS FOR ADULTS.
- Next, using the permanent marker, write “MY WILDFLOWER GARDEN” across the bottom of the egg carton.
You’re all set! Go explore the outdoors and create your beautiful and unique garden!
#25: butterfly scissor skills
This Butterfly Scissor Skills Activity is very easy to set up requiring minimal materials and is super fun for the little ones!
materials:
- Kid-safe scissors
- Card stock (assorted colors)
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
- Butterfly (can be found at any craft store, mine had a clip)
- Permanent marker
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut the card stock into rectangles, about 3″ x 6″. Use different colors of card stock to make this activity attractive for little ones.
- Next, using the permanent marker, draw various designs and a flower at the end. You can do small/large waves, small/large zig-zags, combination of both and straight lines.
- Now, hot glue the butterfly to the tip of the kid-safe scissors. Don’t worry, the butterfly and the hot glue will come of the scissors no problem after you’ve finished this activity. THIS STEP IS FOR ADULTS ONLY.
#26: Bubble Wrap Rainbow craft
This Bubble Wrap Rainbow Craft is an easy and fun recycled craft idea!
MATERIALS FOR BUBBLE WRAP RAINBOW CRAFT:
- Bubble wrap
- Cardboard
- Washable kids paint
- Paintbrushes
- Cotton rounds
- Glue stick
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Start by cutting the bubble wrap to match the size of the cardboard you’ll be using.
- Using the paintbrush and washable paint, paint a rainbow on the bubble wrap.
- Stamp the bubble wrap onto the cardboard and let the paint dry a bit.
- Once the paint is dry, use the glue stick to glue on the cotton rounds to make the clouds. I got a bit creative and cut out cloud shapes from the cotton rounds.
#27: popsicle stick chick craft
Materials:
Instructions:
- Hot glue to 3 popsicles sticks together to make a triangle. *Hot glue gun should be handled by an adult*
- Cut out the yellow felt according to the size of popsicle stick triangle and hot glue.
- Hot glue the googly eyes, beak and feet (cut out of orange cardstock) and feathers.
#28: Sponge Stamped Tulip Bouquet Craft
Create this beautiful and colorful Sponge Stamped Tulip Bouquet Craft for your next craft! For this craft, you’ll need simple craft materials and a sponge! Kids will love this fun and unique painting process and the lovely final artwork! This Sponge Stamped Tulip Bouquet craft is perfect as an Easter, spring or summer craft idea and can be made by even the youngest ones!
materials:
- Cardboard
- Craft scissors
- Glue stick
- Sponge
- Washable kids paint (we used green, red, purple and yellow)
- Paintbrush
- Paper plate
- White cardstock
Instructions:
- Start by cutting out a desired vase out of the cardboard. Make it approximately 4 inches tall.
- Next, glue the cardboard vase to the white cardstock, holding the cardstock vertically and gluing the vase to the lower bottom half of the paper.
- Now, using the craft scissors, cut out tulips out of a sponge. I got 3 tulips out of one sponge for each paint color.
- Next, add the desired colors of washable kids paint to the paper plate, prep the paintbrush and sponge tulips.
NOW THE FUN PART!
- Let your child paint the sponge using the paintbrush to get a nice even layer and then “stamp” the sponge tulips onto the top half of the white cardstock with vase. Alternate colors for a colorful bouquet!
- Lastly, using a paintbrush, add green stems and leaves. Let the art dry.
