These Nativity Story Wooden Disks are a simple, yet an exciting and creative way to tell the story of Christmas.
They’re really easy to make, requiring only a couple of supplies plus your best drawing skills 🙂 My drawings aren’t amazing, but if kids can differentiate the drawings than it’s all good.
My kids loved this unique way to experience the Christmas Story, visually seeing every character from the Bible!

MATERIALS for Nativity story Wooden Disks:
- Wooden disks (1 inch)
- Colored permanent markers
- Drawing skills!
Draw simple illustrations from the Nativity Scene, single illustration per disk.
What is my child learning and improving?
- Nativity Story (these disks help the child familiarize and memorize the Christmas Story, its characters, plot and the real meaning behind Christmas!)
- Creative play (the unique wooden disks spark a child’s creativity and they can play with them in various ways)
- Fine motor skills (picking up the wooden disks)
TIP- these make a great memorization game! Lay out all of the wooden disks in front of the child, ask the child to look around and memorize as many disks as he/she can and then have them to close their eyes. While their eyes are closed, take and hide one wooden disks with the illustration. Once they open their eyes, the child has to figure out who’s missing! It’s really fun and best of all it helps the child learn the characters from the Christmas Story in an exciting way!
