Palm Sunday is right around the corner and I’ve got a simple craft to share with you, these Felt Palm Branches! They were so easy and fun to make!
It was a win for me because I had everything right at home (these only require 3 craft materials believe it or not!). My kids loved the easy steps, fun fluffy materials and I loved the mess-free process!

Materials:
– The Story of Easter Book (optional)
Instructions:
Fold the green felt in half horizontally and cut a large “half leaf” out. Unfold and you’ll have a symmetrical large leaf. Next, cut about 4 slits in green felt leaf by pinching the felt and cutting through a bit (about 1/3″ slits). Now thread the brown pipecleaner through the slits and pinch the pipecleaner a little bit at the end to prevent it from sliding further. Lastly, cut deep slits almost to the pipecleaner stem at a slant on each side, to create individual leaves.
That’s it! Your Palm Branches are now ready to welcome Jesus into Jerusalem! 🙂
What is my child learning and improving?
-Fine motor skills (using the scissors, holding the pipecleaners)
-Cognitive skills (didn’t expect this one, did you? But little one’s have to use their brains when alternating sides when threading the pipecleaner through the leaf as well as when cutting the individual leaves of the palm at a slant.
-Scissor skills
-Concentration and focus
-Imagination and pretend play
