This House Color Scavenger Hunt is such an awesome idea if you’re stuck indoors and kids need to let some of their energy out! It’s super easy to prepare, in fact you’ll need only a few craft supplies plus some old cardboard you might already have laying around the house. Great recycled idea!
I made this in no time and my kids reaaallly loved the idea of searching the house for the little treasures! It was quite funny to watch them as they ran around the house trying to find items that would color match and also fit into the clothespin. It was even funnier looking at my 2 year old tagging along with the 4 year old who was a total leader in this game, like always! 🙂

Materials:
-Cardboard
-Colored permanent marker (or crayons!)
Instructions:
Using a semi large cardboard write out “House Color Scavenger Hunt ” right on top center. Next using the permanent markers or crayons scribble red, blue, green, purple, orange (any color you want!) in sections and then hot glue a clothspin on top of each color. You may color the clothespin accordingly as well, like I did.
Rule are simple- kids have to find something, ANYTHING (although small enough to clip) around the house that matches each color.
What is my child learning?
-Color (sorting, matching up, comparing)
-Gross motor (kids WILL be running around the house like wild animals searching for prey!)
-Fine motor (pinning their “findings” onto the clothespin)
-Cognitive skills (thinking, analyzing, matching, comparing, predicting)
